Systems Biology and regulation of mitochondrial metabolism: potential applications to obesity

Based in San Sebastian. Applications here.

Gene sequencing has led to the emergence of Systems Biology, which tries to reconstruct and model the various networks of molecular interaction that occur within a cellular system with the goal of looking for emerging properties of biomedical/biotechnological interest.

Mitochondrial metabolism plays an important role in maintaining a balance of energy equilibrium within an organism and is of great interest in a variety of illnesses.

This project deals with the reconstruction, analysis and regulation of mitochondrial metabolism using Systems Biology with a focus on obesity.
